Jinjur Van Vogelpoel
Jinjur grew up near Portland, Oregon and was drawn to the healing arts from a young age. A fascination with the metaphysical and a quest for self-realization led her to investigate many traditional methods of healing, and she took her first Hatha yoga class at 16. She continued exploring different styles of yoga over the years, until finally she moved to Paris in 2010 and discovered the Ashtanga system soon after. Its dynamic rhythm and structure were instantly appealing, yet it’s the potential for deep inner transformation that has devoted her to the tradition. She is honored to call Linda Munro and Gérald Disse her teachers.
She finds yoga to be a daily practice of mental strength & flexibility, of physical challenge, and a powerful tool of self discovery. She integrates this with the spiritual and philosophical practices of Buddhism to create a strong foundation for inner growth.
Her personal mantra is “Know Thyself” and she is passionate about helping others on their path to self knowledge. She believes that It is this ability to Know Thyself that leads to true happiness and peace within, and as we cultivate peace within, we understand the keys to peace on earth.
Lastly, Jinjur is also a Thai massage practitioner, an avid gardener, traveler, beekeeper, and lover of ecology. She aims to live consciously within the cycles of nature, in a way that nourishes a holistic vision of health and well-being for all. She teaches her classes at Ashtanga Yoga Paris with an emphasis on mindfulness, humor, and the cultivation of inner strength.
Jinjur completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training at AYP in 2015, and continues to be a grateful student at the studio today.
